The annual meeting of Advantage Financial Federal Credit Union will be held on May 17th, 2018, at 810 Vermont Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20420 (time and room number to be determined). The following incumbent directors have been nominated for re-election at that time:
- Sara Turley 1 year term
- Donald Walsh 1 year term
- Michael Greenan 1 year term
Sara Turley is a Management Analyst with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Asset Enterprise Management in Washington, DC. Ms. Turley currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Tennessee and a Master’s in Public Administration from theUniversity of Georgia. Ms. Turley currently resides in Virginia.
Donald Walsh spent most of his 33-year career in federal service primarily as a Financial Analyst and Budget Officer with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He holds a BS in Business from Montclair State University, NJ and an MBA in Health Care Management from Baruch College, NY. Mr. Walsh currently serves as Chairperson of the Board and is also the chair of the Asset/Liability Management and Budget Committees. Mr. Walsh is retired and living in North Carolina.
Michael Greenan has been an Advantage Financial member since 1989. He began his Federal Service in 1987 with the Department of Energy while attending the American University MPA program. After receiving his graduate degree, Mr. Greenan began his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs in 1989 as a budget analyst. Currently, he is the Director of CAPPS where he is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Department’s capital investment process and methodology, developing Department-wide policy and legislative proposals regarding effective capital asset management and coordinating and publishing the VA’s annual Construction Budget submission. Mr. Greenan lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife and two sons.
Any member interested in placing their name into consideration for a Board of Director should present to the Secretary of the Board, a petition signed by at least 112 members of Advantage Financial FCU. The petition should be mailed to:

Along with the petition, the member/nominee must include a brief statement of qualifications and biographical data. The petition must be accompanied by a signed certificate from the nominee stating that they are agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected to office. The petition and all other documents must be received by March 15th, 2018.
The election will not be conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor when the number of nominees equals the number of positions to be filled.
