| In November 2017, we asked you to share your story about why you are thankful for Advantage Financial Federal Credit Union for a chance to win a $250.00 gift card. The contest was our way of getting to know our members better. Thank you for your many contributions. We enjoyed learning about your financial victories and how Advantage Financial was able to help. Here are a few of our favorite entries:
Advantage Federal Credit Union approved me for a low finance loan to help me consolidate some credit card debt. The Credit Union employees made the process seamless, stayed in touch with me during the entire process and were extremely helpful in explaining everything, every single step of the way. They were courteous, friendly and caring. Keep up the good work! |
| | I'm a Program Support Assistant at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY. Last June, I was in dire straits. While at work, I received a call from my Mom, a senior citizen, and widower on a fixed income. My Mom, who lives in North Carolina, was very upset due to her central air conditioning unit had ceased to work. Temperatures were approaching ninety degrees daily and I was desperate to get this taken care of for her. My local branch at Stratton, as well as the main office in Washington DC, were instrumental in helping me to fast track a signature loan at a great rate, and expedite the necessary repairs I needed to ensure my Mom would be comfortable during the summer months. I was so happy and pleasantly surprised how easy it was, and a simple payment plan was established with no hassle at all! I can't thank you folks enough! |
| | I have been a member for over 10 years. Me and my family moved to Fayetteville, NC about 7 years ago and I still kept my membership with Advantage Financial because for many reasons such as, the wonderful customer service I have received over the years; from handling my accounts, to helping me resolve unauthorized charges, to assisting me when I went over my account balance, they offered me low rate loan plans as well as discounted insurance and many other offers, but the satisfaction of just knowing that your money is in a safe place. Advantage Financial is an exceptional financial institution and it makes its members feel appreciated. Along with the many benefits of just being with a credit union, Advantage Financial will remain my financial institution for as long as I live. Me and my family just want to give a special thanks for not only being a great bank but for being a great family. |
| | I became a Federal Employee in 2006. By being employed I have been able to obtain a BSBA and an MBA from Strayer University (DC). I then pursued my PhD in 2014. The federal government shut down on or about 2014, causing hardships including paying for school books and bills. I am very thankful for Advantage Financial Federal Credit Union for helping me when they did. As a member, I was able to borrow much-needed emergency funds to help sustain my household and focus on school at least until the shutdown was over. The repayment plan was affordable and with minimal interest which allowed me extra time to get myself together for my family. Advantage Financial treated me as if I was their only member. I received one on one personal assistance and valuable financial guidance and information which taught me how to clear my credit up so that I would be able to afford and be approved for this small loan. I was approved for a personal loan a couple years later. I have always made my payments on time until I lost my job early this year May 2017. I explained the situation to the reps at Advantage Financial gave me pointers on how to revive my credit starting now. They handled my situation as professionals but were courteous. I felt relieved knowing they were concerned even after I had lost my job. The reps explained in detail how to maintain or help my credit in the future. This was well above and beyond their call of duty. And, they connected me with their collections department to set up affordable payment options. Although still unemployed, the credit union folks still greet me with a smile and are very supportive of me as a person. |
